Virginia cedar oil has a very mild and sweet woody aroma.
The unique scent emitted when sharpening pencil lead is a rich cedar scent.

Cedarwood has often been used in women's perfumes recently because it resembles the smell of female pheromones (estrogen).
It is widely loved as a representative woody fragrance in niche perfumes such as Serge Lutens, Frederic Malle, and Byredo.
You can also use it as a sachet in drawers and closets, as the fragrance goes well with wooden furniture.


Cedarwood essential oil is produced worldwide mainly in the United States. Texas Cedarwood Texas is the mainstream, but Virginia Cedarwood, also known as Eastern Red Cedar, is native to the southeastern United States. It has a warm, woody aroma, reminiscent of pencil lead. Virginia cedar oil is made by steam distilling the logs and wood chips of the Virginia juniper tree species. The bright yellow oil is slightly viscous and develops a sweet ambery woody aroma as it ages.
