Liquid silicone, Handmade molds for making candles and plaster
Recommended for people who want to make their own handmade silicone molds.
Point 1. Silicone hardness
Hardness of 5 degrees is suitable for making delicate and soft candle molds (such as candle food decoration)
Hardness of 15 degrees is suitable for making large three-dimensional candle molds (such as Christmas tree candles)
The higher the hardness, the harder it is
1000 grams of silicone is about 800 ml. The scale on the bottle is in ml. Shipping is calculated by weight
Point 2. LiquidSilicone
Liquid silicone is divided into A glue and B glue. You weigh it according to the ratio of 1:1 and mix it evenly (stir for about 5 to 7 minutes), and then pour it directly into the mold, and then solidify and form.
The amount used should not be less than 60 grams, that is, at least 30 grams of glue A and B each. Too little silicone or uneven mixing of the silicone will affect the curing effect of the silicone and may prevent it from curing.
Silica gel can be painted or poured on AB water resin molds, steel molds, copper molds, iron molds, plastic molds, aluminum alloy molds;
cannot be used in Fiberglass molds, putty, plasticine, and condensation-type (industrial grade hardener-added) silicone molds will cause the silicone to fail to solidify.
Fix the material mold in the container (if the mold is very light, you can use glue or double-sided tape to fix it first), then mix the silicone together accurately in proportion, stir evenly, and pour it directly into the container , solidified and formed.
Point 3. Silicone curing
When using, mix the silicone according to the proportion. After stirring evenly, pour it directly into the mold, and then leave it to wait. At this time, the fluidity of the silicone is still relatively thin, and the bubbles will slowly and automatically eliminate and gradually solidify.
If you want better defoaming effect, after the silicone is stirred evenly, you can put it in the refrigerator and freeze it for about 10 to 20 minutes, and wait for the bubbles to disappear before t1519 >Take it out and wait for the silicone to solidify naturally at room temperature. The defoaming effect increases with lower temperatures. If there are ice cubes in the refrigerator, it is best to seal them or use a suitable lid to cover them before placing the mold in. Do not let the moisture from the ice cubes fall into the liquid silicone, which will cause the silicone to fail to solidify.
Curing time:
About 3-5 hours at room temperature 30C, the details depend on the size of the mold
